MACOMB, IL -- Are you concerned with your son's or daughter's reading skills? Need some new study strategies for your student? Would you like your child to be more prepared as they begin the new school year?

Western Illinois University's Graduate Reading Program will offer free diagnostic and tutoring services during Fall 2010 for students in grades seven through 12. According to WIU Curriculum and Instruction Professor and Program Coordinator Sara Simonson, the learning experience will focus on improving participants' reading and writing abilities.

The tutoring program will begin Thursday, Sept. 9, and will be held from 5:15-6:30 P.M. every Thursday in Horrabin Hall (the north side of the building) on the WIU-Macomb campus. Graduate students in the reading program are certified teachers and are currently working toward their master's degrees to become K-12 reading specialists.

Registration is required. To register, or for more information, contact Simonson at SD-Simonson@wiu.edu or leave a message at (309) 298-2510.
