MACOMB, IL – The associate director of student athlete support services from the Ohio State University will deliver two lectures about academics and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) next week at Western Illinois University. Vicki Melnick, who earned her master's degree in sport management from Western in 1997 and has served in her associate director position at OSU since July 2010, will be on the WIU-Macomb campus Monday, Dec. 5 to deliver the following lectures:

  • 2-3:15 p.m. — "NCAA Academic Reform and the Changing Face of Student Academic Support," Brophy Hall 224

According to Darlene Young, sport management graduate coordinator and associate professor in kinesiology, Melnick's first session will focus on the NCAA academic investigation of OSU football player Maurice Clarett.
