Research Interests

Some Recent or Current Projects
  • Video Game Imagery - developing standardized stimuli to be used in gaming research
  • Psychological and Neurobiological Individual Differences in Substance Use
  • Substance Use & Mental Health Symptoms in College Students
  • Clinical Treatments / Psychotherapy Outcomes (e.g., mental health & symptom change during psychological treatment)
  • Responses to Trauma/Victimization

Much of his clinical work and research has involved examining the intersection of cognition and emotion (i.e., emotional distractability and attentional mechanisms that may lead to or maintain psychopathology or drug craving). He is particularly interested in studying substance use, including smoking, in relation to psychological disorders (i.e., ADHD) and mental health symptoms (i.e., depression or anxiety).
