Riding the Train To Macomb

There are two trains daily (381 Carl Sandburg and 383 Illinois Zephyr) from the Chicago area to Macomb through Amtrak. The morning train (381 Carl Sandburg) leaves Union Station (CHI) approximately at 7:40 AM and arrives in Macomb (MAC) around 10:59 AM. The evening train (383 Illinois Zephyr) leaves Union Station (CHI) approximately at 5:55 PM and arrives in Macomb (MAC) around 9:14 PM. Depending on your timeline, you may also catch the train one stop after Union Station at La Grange Station (LAG).

  • Tickets can be purchased through Amtrak.

If you are planning on flying in and directly boarding a train to Macomb within the same day, please make sure you have ample time to arrive at the train station.
