Thomas Caudill

Thomas Caudill is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. He is a double alumni of Western Illinois University, graduating with a double major B.A. in History and B.S. in Psychology, and his M.S. in Psychology with a focus in the Clinical/Community Mental Health program. He began his career working in inpatient psychiatric services, before being hired as a counselor at Monmouth College for the past six years. He is excited to return to his alma mater, and provide support for the students who now attend.

Thomas usually employs a person-centered approach to counseling, focusing on providing empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard for the student and their experience. He utilizes a variety of components from different therapy styles, including: cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, compassion focused therapy, and existentialism. He believes strongly in working with any individual from where they are, and helping them work toward their goals. His areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-esteem, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ issues.

In his spare time, he can often be found with friends or family. He also enjoys reading, cooking, listening to music, practicing piano, and playing board games with friends.
