Call for Submissions: Disability Awareness Day exhibit
Disability Support Services and Students for Disability
Awareness invite students, faculty and staff to submit a photo display or
artwork to exhibit at Disability Awareness Day on
Wednesday,
Oct. 27
. All entries must be submitted by Oct. 15 to Disability Support Services, Seal Hall 117. Group or classroom projects are welcome.
Participants are asked to represent the disabled community or point of view by
taking photographs or creating artwork, developing narratives to go with their
photos or artwork, and displaying their work at Disability Awareness Day. The
project is intended to give insight into how people with disabilities
conceptualize their circumstances and to change the way dominant groups image
the disability experience.
Interested participants should contact Disability Support Services by calling (309) 298-2512 or e-mailing disability@wiu.edu.
Disability Awareness Day will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the University
Union Grand Ballroom. Participants are encouraged to be present to answer
questions about their display.
For more information, contact Tara Miller at 298-2512 or T-Miller@wiu.edu.
