Seniors' Work Featured in University Art Gallery Exhibition

MACOMB, IL -- The University Art Gallery at Western Illinois University will present the exhibition, "The Home Stretch," Tuesday, Nov. 27–Saturday, Dec. 15. The exhibition features work by four WIU students who will graduate in May 2013 each with a bachelor's degree art.

"The Home Stretch" opening reception is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 and is open free to the public. Light refreshments will be served, and the exhibiting artists will speak about their work at 6:30 p.m.

Corey Johnston (Lombard, IL) will exhibit jewelry made from cast silver, sheet copper, copper wire, faux leather and fabric. Ashley Lawless (Crystal Lake, IL) will display oil pastel drawings and ceramics. Brandon Strode (Canton, IL) will show lithographs and digital photographs. Kati Tunget (Utica, IL) will display digital photographs and mixed media pieces.

The University Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday–Friday, and 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is closed on Mondays. For more information, contact the University Art Gallery at (309) 298-1587.
