Beans Awarded WIU President's Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – High school senior Hollyn Beans, of Greenville (IL), has been awarded a President's Scholarship to Western Illinois University, which covers four years of tuition, fees and residence hall room and board at the school.

Beans plans to major in musical theatre at Western. In high school she was involved in a variety of activities, including theatre, music, sports, National Honor Society, student council and numerous volunteer opportunities.

After graduation from WIU, Beans plans to pursue a career in theatre and possibly continue on toward a master's degree.

The Western Illinois University President's Scholarship Fund has provided more than $500,000 in scholarships to more than 225 students. To qualify, students must have a minimum ACT score of 32 and have already received WIU's Centennial Commitment Scholarship. The scholarship decision is also weighted by proof of volunteer and community service.
