Q-Lot West Entrance to Close Permanently Oct. 21

MACOMB, IL -- The permanent closure to the northwest entrance of Q-Lot, which is part of the new Q-Lot entry project, will take place Wednesday, Oct. 21.

According to Ted Renner, Facilities Management deputy director, Hood Demolition has been working on the new entrance to Q-Lot, which is now located across from the Brophy Hall parking lot entrance, since last month. The northwest entrance, near Western Hall, will be closed permanently effective Wednesday morning. A pedestrian walkway will be created at that entrance. The project is part of of the University's Campus Master Plan.

WIU Athletics would like to remind Leatherneck Club members to enter Q-Lot through the new main entrance and drive directly south to the southeast entrance to the Leatherneck Club tailgating area. The current entrance to the Leatherneck Club tailgate area near the Spencer Student Recreation Center will be barricaded and closed on football game days. Leatherneck fans attending WIU Athletics events can still find ample parking in Q-Lot.
