WIU Students Visit Groupon

MACOMB, IL - A group of students from Western Illinois University's Career Development Center (CDC) traveled to Chicago March 17 to visit Groupon.

Led by Graduate Assistant Katharine Barnard, eight WIU students had the opportunity to meet with WIU alumni to discuss their experiences in working with Groupon.

"I think it was valuable for students to see how a degree from WIU could prepare them to work at a company like Groupon, directly from alumni," said Barnard. "I felt the information they were sharing was so relevant because of their shared undergraduate experiences."

This is the second year the CDC has toured Groupon with hopes of creating strong ties between WIU students and successful organizations in the Chicagoland area.
