MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will host "A Romantic Study" music concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The concert will present romantic music from the late 18th century. This music is related to Romanticism, the European artistic and literary movement that arose in the second half of the 18th century. Music became more expressive and emotional, expanding to encompass literary, artistic and philosophical themes.

Set as an informal demonstration of Romantic choral styles and technique, the concert includes repertoire from England, Italy, France, Germany, the United States and Russia. Featured composers include Charles Stanford, Giuseppe Verdi, Gabriel Faure, Johannes Brahms, Amy Beach and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
