Nancy Smith Obituary

MACOMB, IL – A memorial mass for retired Western Illinois University Associate Professor Nancy Smith will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb.
Smith passed away Saturday, Aug. 26 in Macomb.
She began teaching in WIU's accounting department in 1977, retiring in 2000. She then served as an adjunct professor until 2009.
Smith received her bachelor's degree from Rosary College (Dominican University), her master's degree in accountancy from WIU and her doctoral degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She is survived by four children, Moira, Michael, Patricia and Catherine; two sisters, Eileen and Ginger; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the J. David and Nancy Smith Scholarship at the WIU Foundation, 1 University Circle, Macomb, IL, 61455.
