MACOMB, IL – Letisha Trepac, director of the Western Illinois University Foundation Financial Affairs, has been named the budget director, effective Jan. 1, according to WIU President Jack Thomas.

Trepac has served as the director of WIU Foundation Financial Affairs since October 2016. In this role, she has managed the accounting, business, information systems, purchasing, scholarship processing and gift and pledge processing for the WIU Foundation, established budget proposals for non-restricted accounts and ensured policy compliance.

Previously, she was the assistant to the academic vice president for budget and personnel at WIU (2012-2016), in which she managed the human resources for administrative and academic personnel and Academic Affairs budget functions. Trepac also served as a budget analyst in the WIU Budget Office (2009-2012), which included processing budget transactions, assisting with budget inquiries, reviewing and approving personnel financial requests and evaluating personnel and operating reserves. Trepac has worked as a human resources officer at Western (2006-2009) and as an office manager for human resources (2005-2006), as well as in support specialist positions since 1999.

"Letisha's financial background and her years of service at Western will provide a seamless transition for the budget office," Thomas said. "Her understanding of the University's budget process will ensure continued sound fiscal management."

Trepac earned her MBA and bachelor's degree in business from Western.

The University's budget director is responsible for organizing and monitoring the University's $200 million budget. The budget director also plans and coordinates Western's annual operating and capital budgets; determines fiscal year appropriated and auxiliary funds allocations; and submits budget-related requests to the WIU Board of Trustees, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the Governor's Office of Management and Budget and the Illinois State Legislature.
