TSPR Honored for Story About WIU Women's Basketball

MACOMB, IL -- Tri States Public Radio (TSPR) General Manager Jonathan Ahl has been named a finalist in the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association 2017 journalism contest.

TSPR, a service of the Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC), was named a winner in the Best Sports Report Category. The awarded story, "Character the Key to WIU Basketball," was produced by Ahl, who reported on the women's basketball team's trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The story aired on Public Radio stations across Illinois on March 14, 2017. The story can be heard at tspr.org/post/character-key-wiu-basketball.

The award level will be announced at the Illinois News Broadcasters Association (INBA) awards banquet April 21 in East Peoria, IL.
