MACOMB, IL -- Billy Clow, dean of Western Illinois University's College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC), has been named interim provost, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Clow replaces Kathy Neumann, who will step down and will work on special projects. Neumann has served as interim provost since May 2015. A national search is underway.

"I am grateful to the service Dr. Neumann has provided to the University over the years," President Jack Thomas said. "She stepped in as interim provost during a most challenging time for public higher education, and worked tirelessly to ensure that academic affairs continued to move forward."

Clow has served as COFAC dean since July 1, 2012.
