Netkal Made Gowda Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Department of Chemistry Professor Emeritus Netkal Made Gowda passed away Tuesday, May 7 in Washington, DC.

A viewing will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Robert Pumphrey Funeral Home in Rockville, MD.

Made Gowda joined the WIU Department of Chemistry as a professor in August 1989. He served as department chair from 1999-2005, and retired in 2012 after 23 years of service. After his retirement, Made Gowda started a master's degree program at the Mahajana Institute in Mysore, India, with the vision of adding a doctoral program.

He is survived by his wife Bharathi, and three daughters, Nandini, Pavithra and Pallavi.
