Kinkaid Named EOA Director

MACOMB, IL -- Stephanie Kinkaid has been named the new director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (EOA). She began serving in the role Dec. 2.

Before joining WIU, Kinkaid served as the interim director of intercultural life and Title IX coordinator at Monmouth College since June 2019. In that role, she coordinated and led the college's compliance with Title IX and Title VI, including the grievance procedures, monitoring outcomes and identifying patterns, arranged orientation and cultural training for new international students, coordinated programming to address inclusion needs on campus, supervised residence hall staff training regarding discrimination, harassment, assault and retaliation, oversaw the college Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation in regards to complaints and investigations, among numerous other responsibilities. As the Title IX coordinator, Kinkaid increased recognition of the office and available resources by 40 percent, according to the annual campus climate survey.

Previously, she served as the assistant director and the program coordinator of the Wackerle Career and Leadership Program and administrative assistant to the Vice President for Student Life, all at Monmouth College.

"Stephanie's unique experiences will allow her to provide exemplary service to our University community as our Equal Opportunity and Access director and Title IX coordinator," noted Interim President Martin Abraham. "I'm pleased to have her serving in this critical role at WIU."

Kinkaid is a member of the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), the Central IL Consortium of Title IX Administrators and Family Planning Service of Western Illinois Board. Previously, she served in numerous leadership roles, including president, of the Illinois Small College Placement Association/College Career Consortium of Illinois.

She received her master's in college student personnel from WIU and her bachelor's degree in public relations from Illinois State University.

As the Title IX Coordinator, Kinkaid increased recognition of the office and available resources by 40% according to the annual campus climate survey.
