Virtual Interviews Set for Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management for April 15, 20, 22

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University will host virtual interviews for three candidates for the associate vice president for Enrollment Management position April 15-22.

Candidates include Bob Trusz, admissions coordinator for the College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University; Jeremy Reed, vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northern State University- Aberdeen (SD); and Karen Lucas, assistant vice president of Enrollment Services at the University of North Florida.

Open sessions for the campus and community will be held via Zoom from 3:45-4:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 (Trusz), Monday, April 20 (Reed) and Wednesday April 22 (Lucas). Links to the Zoom sessions can be obtained by emailing Registrar Angela Lynn at AN-Lynn@wiu.edu.

Trusz has served as admissions coordinator for the College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University since 2016. Previously, he served as the dean for Library Services from 2015-16, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services (2013-15), associate vice president for Enrollment Management (2006-13) and director of admission (2000-06) at Shawnee State University (OH); director of admission at Millikin University (Decatur, IL) from 1993-00; associate director of admission at Grinnell College (IA) from 1987-93 and assistant director of admission for Purdue University (1982-87).

Trusz received his bachelor's degree in mathematics and an M.S. in education from Purdue University.

Reed has been the vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northern State University- Aberdeen since 2017. Previously, he served as the director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (2015-17), director of Career Services (2007-10) and interim orientation coordinator (2002-09) at Augustana College, director of admissions at MacMurrary College (2006-07), assistant dean of students/director of career services at Iowa Wesleyan College (2004-06), hall director (2001-02) and assistant director of admission (1998-02) at Knox College.

Reed earned his bachelor's degree in international studies and political science from Loras College; Master of Education in higher education and college student personnel from Kent State University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of Iowa.

Lucas has served as the assistant vice president of Enrollment Services at the University of North Florida since 2019. Previously, she has served as the interim associate vice president of Enrollment Services (2018-19), director of Admissions, Transfer Student Services and New Student Orientation (2015-18) at the University of North Florida; program director at Kentucky Community and Technical College System (2012-15); dean of Enrollment Management for the University of New England (2009-11); director of Undergraduate Admissions at Oklahoma State University (2006-09); senior associate director for Undergraduate Admissions, Community College Relations and Transfer Student Services and Student Enrollment Communication Center at Florida International University (2005-06); senior associate director for Undergraduate Admissions, Community College Relations and Transfer Student Services and Student Enrollment Communication Center (2002-05), associate director of admissions (2000-02), assistant director of admissions (1997-00), coordinator of adult and transfer recruitment (1994-97) and credential evaluator (1993-94) at Florida Atlantic University.

Lucas received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University and a M.S. in history from Florida Atlantic University.
