MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees approved a resolution to set 2020-2021 fees for incoming students at its May 18 Board meeting.

The 2020-2021 fees for new undergraduate and graduate students taking classes at the Macomb campus or online will increase to $94.69/credit hour. The 2020-2021 fee rate for new undergraduate and graduate students taking classes at the Quad Cities campus will increase to $42.33/credit hour. The increase in fees will allow for an investment in increased services for QC students. The rate for Quad Cities face-to-face courses will be incrementally adjusted over a four-year period to become equivalent with all other mandatory fee rates, with the initial phase-in beginning Fall 2020.

At the BOT's May 6 meeting, trustees approved keeping the 2020-2021 tuition rate for all incoming domestic U.S. undergraduate students level at $8,883 annually ($296.10 per credit hour, based on 30 credit hours). The 2020-20201 tuition rate for new U.S. graduate students will remain at $339.82 per credit hour. In addition, at the May 6 meeting, the Board voted to keep the 2020-2021 room and meal plan for new students at $9,800 (double room rate).

The WIU Cost Guarantee program ensures that undergraduate students will pay the same rate for tuition, fees, room and meal plan for their four years of continuous enrollment. Western's Cost Guarantee is the only public university program in Illinois that provides no increases in room and meal plan, in addition to the Illinois statutory requirement of guaranteed four-year tuition rates. Western Illinois also offers the Cost Guarantee to transfer and graduate students.

The full agenda and meeting materials/documents can be found at wiu.edu/bot. The next Board meeting will be held June 11-12 at the WIU-Quad Cities campus in Moline.
