WIU OSE Hosting 'Winter Weeks of Welcome" to Kick-Off Spring Semester

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Office of Student Engagement (OSE), in conjunction with numerous other campus offices, will host "Winter Weeks of Welcome" for the first four weeks of the Spring 2021 semester.

The goal of the events is to help engage students and help them make meaningful connections.

The schedule for Saturday, Jan. 16-Saturday, Jan. 23 includes:

Saturday, Jan. 16
– 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Leatherneck women's and men's basketball games vs. Kansas City - virtual

Monday, Jan. 18
– Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Service begins (various events and times, virtual and in-person)

Tuesday, Jan. 19
- 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Tuesday on the Terrace – University Union, in person
- 6-7 p.m. – Fraternity and Sorority Life virtual question and answer session
- 7 p.m. - University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) Western Leader information session, virtual and in-person in the Brattain Lounge of the University Union
- 8 p.m. – OSE and UHDS trivia night with alumnus Ryan Budds – virtual

Wednesday, Jan. 20
- Noon - TASC Leatherneck Success Leader information session - virtual
- 5 p.m. – Campus Recreation Three-Point Contest, in-person at the Student Recreation Center
- 6-7 p.m. – WIU Zoom Social
- 7-9 p.m. – University Union Board Virtual Bingo Night

Thursday, Jan. 21
- 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Thursday on the Terrace, in-person on the University Union terrace
- 3-5 p.m. Fraternity and Sorority Life Activities Fair
- 8 p.m. UUB and IHC Paint and Go – virtual
- 7 p.m. – UHDS Western Leader information session – virtual and in person in the University Union's Brattain Lounge

Friday, Jan. 22
- 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Leatherneck women's and men's basketball games vs. South Dakota, virtual
- Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Service ends

Saturday, Jan. 23
- 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Leatherneck women's and men's basketball games vs. Kansas City - virtual

The project is being coordinated in cooperation with Campus Recreation, the University Union, the Multicultural Center, Athletics, University Housing and Dining Services and Transition and Retention Services.
