MACOMB, IL – Macomb resident and Hancock County native Dustin (Dusty) Berg has hit the ground running as the new development director for Tri States Public Radio (TSPR) at Western Illinois University. Berg took over the position earlier this spring, following the promotion of Heather Norman to TSPR general manager.

A WIU graduate, Berg previously served as the executive director of the Hancock County Economic Development Corporation, and most recently owned an insurance agency in Macomb for the past five years. Berg is also a member of the Macomb Food Co-op Board, Macomb Heritage Days Committee and Forgottonia Wargamers Alliance.

"As our 2022 fund drive is underway, we're thrilled that Dusty is a part of our TSPR team. His professional experiences, coupled with being born and raised in this region, will serve our station well and I'm confident he will successfully lead our development efforts," Norman said.

He earned his bachelor's degree in philosophy from WIU, and is currently working on a master's degree in community development at WIU.

"I'm happy to be putting my skills to use for the good of the area I grew up in and live," Berg added. "The fund drive is hard work, but is the most fun I've had at work. I'm glad to be a part of the TSPR family."

Berg can be reached at (309) 298-1873 or at DL-Berg@wiu.edu. To become a sustaining member of TSPR or to make a pledge during the 2022 fund drive, visit https://donate.nprstations.org/tspr/ or contact Berg directly.
