MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Drew Donahoo has been named the director of donor relations and special events for the Western Illinois University Division of Advancement and Alumni Relations, effective June 14.

Donahoo has served as the associate director for events and communication for the WIU Office of Undergraduate Admissions since June 2020. He also serves as a University 100 instructor at WIU. Previously, he was the associate director for campus events and orientation from 2017-2020. In these roles, Donahoo managed all WIU recruitment visit events, designed and coordinated special Admissions events, managed Admissions' communication efforts for prospective and admitted students and coordinated orientation events for new incoming students. Donahoo joined the admissions office as the assistant director for on-campus programs in November 2015. Before coming to Western, he was a conference coordinator at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and also worked as a hall director at SIU-C and Truman State.

"We're excited to have Drew join our advancement and alumni relations team. His in-depth knowledge of WIU and our stellar programs, students and more, along with his experience coordinating and leading events, will allow the Division of Advancement and Alumni Relations to further enhance its programs and communications with, and for, donors," said Brad Bainter, executive officer of the WIU Foundation.

Donahoo earned his master's degree in College Student Personnel from WIU, and during that time, he served as a graduate assistant in WIU's Alumni Programs. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Emporia State University.

In the community, Donahoo is a member of the Macomb Arts Center Board and serves as the president of the Macomb Lions Club.

The director of donor relations and special events advances the mission of WIU Foundation and Development through a combination of communications, donor stewardship and recognition programs, and plans and implements WIU Foundation and Development events.
