MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The University continues to follow Gov. Pritzker's Executive Order, which was recently extended and outlines testing requirements for unvaccinated employees and students who are physically on WIU's campuses. Due to continued negotiations between the State of Illinois and the SHIELD Illinois testing program, WIU will change its testing methods until further notice.

Beginning Tuesday, July 5, Western will use antigen nasal swab testing (self-administered simple swab around each nostril) on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses. This testing method will allow users to self-administer a test and get the results within 15-20 min. Appointments will no longer be required.

Individuals may only opt out of testing if proof of vaccination is provided.

WIU-MACOMB Test Clinic:
Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
University Union Sandburg Lounge

WIU-Quad Cities Test Clinic:
Thursdays, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Days and times may be adjusted further as necessary. The University is reviewing plans and procedures for testing requirements for the 2022-2023 academic year. Updates will be shared prior to the Fall 2022 semester. Visit wiu.edu/coronavirus for more information.
