Traffic Patterns on University Drive and Western Avenue Change Wednesday for Paint the Paws

MACOMB, IL -- Traffic Alert: Western Illinois University's Paint the Paws Homecoming tradition will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Drivers are asked to avoid using University Drive and Western Avenue between 1:15-3 p.m. Traffic patterns will be changed to two-way traffic in the following: southbound lanes on Western Avenue, starting at Malpass Library; a portion of the eastbound lanes of University Drive, and a portion of the westbound lanes on University Drive.

Lane closures include: the two northbound lanes on Western Avenue (lanes closest to Malpass Library, and Stipes, Morgan and Waggoner halls), beginning at the Library, to the intersection of University Drive; the two eastbound lanes on University Drive (lanes closest to Western Hall) beginning at Waggoner Hall, to the vehicle entrance into Q-Lot; and two westbound lanes on University Drive (closest to the credit union and Vince Grady Field) beginning at Lafayette Street (U.S. Route 67), down to the vehicle entrance to Q-Lot.
