Dads' Day Nov. 5 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will celebrate Dads' Day Saturday, Nov. 5, with a weekend of events planned across campus and in the Macomb community.
Dads' Day merchandise will be available Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4-5, on the ground floor of the University Union Service Center. Quantities are limited; t-shirts are $10 and hats are $15. Only cash or checks will be accepted.
The schedule for this year's event includes:
Friday, Nov. 4-Sunday Nov. 6
• Golf at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course for a discounted rate in honor of Dads' Day. A round of golf is $25 for family members and active students pay $10 per nine holes to ride. Call (309) 298-3676 to schedule a tee-time.
• 8 a.m.-dark - Hike at Spring Lake, just 2.5 miles northwest of WIU. The 230-acre lake, located at 620 Spring Lake Park Road in Macomb, is complemented by hiking and biking trails, campsites and cabin rentals. Contact Spring Lake Management at (309) 833-2052.
Friday, Nov. 4
• 7:30 p.m. – WIU Steel Band Concert, COFAC Recital Hall – Admission is free.
Saturday, Nov. 5
• 1 p.m. – Leatherneck Football – WIU Athletics will host North Dakota State at Hanson Field. Tailgating begins at 8 a.m. in Q-Lot, adjacent to Hanson Field. WIU students will be admitted free with valid student identification and additional tickets can be purchased at bit.ly/WIUFB, or by calling (309) 298-1190.
• 2-4 p.m. – All Games Mario, Digital Rec Center. The Digital Rec Center is open and available to all students and their visiting family members throughout Dads' Day weekend.
• WIU Bookstore, University Union ground floor. Gifts and apparel are 20 percent off to commemorate Dads' Day.
Sunday, Nov. 6
• 3 p.m. – Forgottonia Brewing Music Bingo, 324 N. Lafayette St. Forgottonia Brewing strives to offer quality house-made beer in a safe, comfortable, and community-focused setting. The Dads' Day special offers $1 off all flights for dads and their kids, ages 21 and over.
