Moore Named WIU February Employee of the Month

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Steam and Power Plant II Brian Moore has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for February.

Moore was hired at WIU in March 2022 as a Steam and Power Plant I employee in the Facilities Management Heating Plant. He was promoted to his current position in September 2022.

According to his nominator, Moore's "consistent dedication and enthusiasm for the job have positively affected the production of his coworkers."

"His consistent, can-do attitude is contagious," the nominator said.

The nominator added that Moore took the initiative to complete several tasks within his department that he discovered needed done.

"He sets an example for outstanding service to the unit," the nominator said. "Furthermore, he demonstrates WIU's Core Values by continuing personal growth through training and voluntarily learning more about plant equipment and repairs."

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact the Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at csec-nominations-g@wiu.edu.
