WIU School of Music Hosting Mozart Masterworks Concert April 15

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Masterworks Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The Western Illinois University Choirs, Symphony Orchestra, with guest and faculty soloists, will perform Mozart's masterpiece Requiem, K. 626, under the direction of WIU Director of Choral Studies Brian J. Winnie.

This performance is the culmination of the collaborative efforts of multiple ensembles: the Western Illinois University Concert Choir, under the direction of Assistant Director of the School of Music and Assistant Professor of Music Education Jason Hawkins, with collaborative pianist Yeon-Kyung Kim; the Western Illinois University Singers, under the direction of Winnie, with collaborative pianist Po-Chuan Chiang, and the Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Director of Orchestral Activities Kenny Lee.

Featured soloists will be Ru Huang, soprano; Claire Ryterski, mezzo-soprano; Assistant Professor Alfonzo Cooper, Jr., tenor and Assistant Professor Nicholas Miguel, baritone.

Due to the nature of this work, with no applause between sections, late seating cannot be permitted. Please allow ample time for parking and walking to the Recital Hall. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

This performance is open free for general seating and will be live-streamed on the School of Music's YouTube channel and Facebook page.
