WIU, UPI Local 4100 Joint Tentative Memorandum of Agreement

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University (WIU) and the University Professionals of Illinois Local 4100 (UPI) are pleased to report that the two groups have reached a tentative contract agreement, subject to legal review.

"I am pleased we have reached an agreement with the UPI leadership, an agreement that showcases the value the University holds for our faculty and staff," WIU President Guiyou Huang said. "I would like to thank the members of the bargaining teams for the many hours they invested into this effort to work toward a successful conclusion. I look forward to a productive and successful academic year ahead."

The tentative agreement must be ratified by vote of the UPI membership and approved by the WIU board of Trustees.

"The UPI is pleased that we have reached an agreement with WIU and we recognize WIU's leadership as well as the encouragement of the WIU Board of Trustees in reaching this agreement at this time," said UPI WIU Chapter President Patrick McGinty. "The UPI is committed to providing exceptional educational experiences for our students and we believe that this agreement provides the conditions that will advance that commitment."
