WIU JIDE to Host 'Remember 9/11' Event

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Office of Justice, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (JIDE) will host "Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance" from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11 in the JIDE Office located in University Union, suite 110.

"We are reminded, inspired and most of all connected by our past," WIU Legal Services Specialist Leann Walters said. "In ‘Remember 9/11,' we will learn more about a day filled with horrific acts, selfless heroism and the coming together of people from all backgrounds to face what was a defining moment in U.S. history and world history."

The event will include a viewing of "What We Saw," the full-length coverage of the disaster by CBS News. Additionally, books will be on display and a powerpoint presentation of newspaper clippings of the day and day after. Join JIDE in honoring the memories of the 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.
