MACOMB, IL - - Civil rights leader and Western Illinois University alumnus C.T. Vivian will be remembered by the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the C.T. Vivian Foundation of Macomb.

From 8:30-10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1, the two organizations will be placing a new plaque next to the C.T. Vivian mural in the Macomb Square.

This is part of the "College for the Better Making of Men" event being held by Alpha Phi Alpha, which is hosting alumni brothers from throughout Illinois. The event is focused on training college leaders for life and leadership on campuses, and preparing students for professional life, following the example set by Vivian, a fraternity alum.

"Following the example set by our fraternity brother Rev. C.T. Vivian, we train leaders," Byron K. Oden, president and founder of the C.T. Vivian Foundation of Macomb, said.
