MACOMB, IL - As of July 1, the Western Illinois University Small Development Center (SBDC) has moved off campus to the new Western Illinois Business and Technology Center, according to SBDC Director Dan Voorhis.

The new address is: 510 North Pearl St., Suite 1400, Macomb, IL 61455. The phone number is 309/836-2460; the fax number has been changed to 309/837-4688. The SBDC website address remains www.wiusbdc.org and the e-mail address sb-center@wiu.edu.

The SBDC is part of WIU’s newly-created Entrepreneurship Center (EC), which has been developed as part of Governor Blagojevich’s Opportunity Returns initiative. WIU has teamed with the Macomb Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDCO), which purchased and refurbished the former PPC building, where the Western Illinois Business and Technology Center is now located, to create a partnership focused on economic development initiatives.

The WIU SBDC provides confidential, no-cost business counseling and low-cost group training to prospective and established business owners and employees in predominantly rural areas of western Illinois. In addition to the Center’s Macomb location, workshops and counseling are offered throughout the Center’s 12-county region, giving residents more convenient access to critical business information.

The WIU SBDC serves the following counties: Adams, Brown, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, Mason, McDonough, Pike, Schuyler, Scott and Warren.
