Dear Campus Community,

Summer Orientation and Registration 2005 begins Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7 and 8. Twelve one and one-half day orientation and registration events are planned for all incoming freshmen and their families. These events, the result of many months of planning and cooperation between faculty, staff and administrators in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, will give our incoming freshmen an opportunity to experience residential life, attend academic sessions with faculty, meet with academic advisors, register for fall classes, learn about campus and community resources and services, and interact with other students.

The newly designed summer orientation programs will not only provide a foundation for academic success, but will also provide both the students and their families an excellent opportunity to experience the great sense of hospitality and community that is Western Illinois University. It will be a very busy and exciting summer at Western. Students and many of their family members will be staying in Higgins Hall with a variety of interesting and educational programs offered in the University Union.

Dates for the remaining Summer Orientation and Registration programs are:
o June 10-11 (Fri-Sat)
o June 13-14 (Mon-Tue)
o June 15-16 (Wed-Thu)
o June 20-21 (Mon-Tue)
o June 23-24 (Thu-Fri)
o June 27-28 (Mon-Tue)
o June 29-30 (Wed-Thu)
o July 10-11 (Sun-Mon)
o July 12-13 (Tue-Wed)
o July 14-15 (Thu-Fri)
o July 26-27 (Tue-Wed)
I am excited to showcase our University this summer and hope everyone will have an opportunity to meet many of our new students and their families.

Sincerely,

Al Goldfarb
President
