MACOMB, IL - - Bryce Dexter, who has been working in Macomb as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, has been named director of development for the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Western Illinois University, effective Oct. 29, according to CAS Dean Inessa Levi.

"Bryce's extensive knowledge of the Western Illinois University service region, his background in healthcare organizations and his experience with new program development made him an ideal candidate for the college's new development director," Levi said. "With his talent and leadership we will be able to grow our new nursing program, enhance our scholarship offerings and expand our support to other initiatives taking place throughout the College of Arts and Sciences."

Dexter has also held posts at McDonough District Hospital, RHA Health Services (Greensboro and Kernersville, NC) and the Murdoch Center (Butner, NC). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his Master of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

"I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities in the College of Arts and Sciences at Western Illinois University," Dexter said. "Even as a child growing up in the Macomb area, I had hoped to get to work with the University and help advance it goals. I feel that my past career has been preparing me and leading me in this direction. The upcoming capital campaign will provide the College of Arts and Sciences with many fantastic opportunities, and I am eager to help build upon the college's success."
