MACOMB, IL -- The open roads of west central Illinois are waiting for Western Illinois University alumni motorcycle enthusiasts. The WIU Alumni Association and the College of Business and Technology (CBT) invite alumni and friends for a day of riding -- on a motorcycle poker run starting at Sherman Hall, on to the Mississippi River and back to Macomb -- from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. The event has been rescheduled from an earlier June date (due to rain).

Ride card registration is $20 per driver and $10 for each passenger. Proceeds will benefit the WIU Alumni Association and CBT scholarships. Prizes will be awarded for best poker hand and for second place.

"As a bike enthusiast, I'm really excited to represent the CBT as a partner for this one-of-a-kind event. It's an opportunity to have some fun with the hobby we love, as well as raise some scholarship money at the same time," said CBT Dean Tom Erekson.

Check-in for the motorcycle poker run is at 9 a.m. at Sherman Hall on WIU's Macomb campus, and then participants will travel through west central Illinois to the Mississippi River, over approximately 110 miles, with stops in a few west central Illinois communities, including:

Carthage – Double Deuce Saloon
Nauvoo – Dottie's Red Front
Lomax – The Pink
Blandinsville – Slup's Bar and Grill
Tennessee – Tennessee Tap
Macomb – Rocky's Bar and Grill
