Presidential Search Interviews Set

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- According to the Western Illinois University Presidential Search Committee, five finalists will be considered for the position of Western's 11th president. Interviews will be held Nov. 15-17; Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 1; Dec. 1-3; Dec. 6-8; and
Dec. 8-10.

The finalists and interview dates include Jeremy Brown, president, Edinboro State University of Pennsylvania, Nov. 15-17; Susan Koch, provost and academic vice president, Northern Michigan University, Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 1; Tim Hudson, special assistant to the chancellor for international studies and initiatives for the University of Houston system, Dec. 1-3; Carlos Vargas-Aburto, provost and vice president for academic affairs, Kutztown University, Dec. 6-8; and Jack Thomas, provost and academic vice president, Western Illinois University, Dec. 8-10.

"We are pleased with the high caliber of the finalists. We look forward to the on-campus interviews," said Presidential Search Committee co-chairs Dennis DeVolder, president of the WIU Faculty Senate, and Bill Epperly, secretary of the WIU Board of Trustees.

Open sessions for each candidate will be held from 4:15-5 p.m. in the Hall of Fame room, Western Hall, and from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Room 102 at the WIU-Quad Cities campus. Dates are: Brown, Nov. 16 (Macomb), Nov. 17 (QCs); Koch, Nov. 30 (Macomb), Dec. 1 (QCs); Hudson, Dec. 2 (Macomb), Dec. 3 (QCs); Vargas-Aburto, Dec. 7 (Macomb), Dec. 8 (QCs); and Thomas, Dec. 9 (Macomb), Dec. 10 (QCs).
