Ann Curtis Retirement Reception May 7

MACOMB, IL – A retirement reception in honor of Western Illinois University's Infant and Preschool Center Director Ann Curtis will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 7 in Horrabin Hall 1. Curtis will retire with 34 years of service at Western.

She joined the Infant and Preschool Center as assistant director the year it was established, 1977; and in Fall 1979 she was named the center's director. The center also serves as the laboratory site for more than 400 university students a semester needing observation and practical, hands-on work with young children.

Curtis has had many of her teaching ideas published in national teaching and parenting magazines.

She earned her bachelor's degree (1977) in home economics – child development, and her master's degree in early childhood education (1983) at Western.
