Admissions Director Interviews

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Three candidates for the Western Illinois University director of admissions position will be on the WIU-Macomb campus for interviews Tuesday, May 3; Tuesday, May 17; and Thursday, May 19, according to John Biernbaum, associate vice president of student services and chair of the search committee.

Patsy Reynolds, director of admissions at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will interview May 3. An open session will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. in the University Union Capitol Room (video connection to WIU-Quad Cities campus).

Reynolds has served as director of admissions at SIUC since 2008. Prior to that she was the assistant vice president and branch manager at Regions Financial Services from 2007-2008 and was an assistant manager of AmSouth Bank from 2002-2007. Reynolds served as director of admissions (1984-2001), associate director of admissions (1982-1984) and undergraduate admissions officer (1981-1982) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has also worked as a merchandise manager at J.C. Penney Corporation (1979-1981) and as a teacher and coach at Washington (IL) Unit Schools (1977-1979). Reynolds earned her master's degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1993) and her bachelor's degree from Illinois State University (1976).

James Lynes, Jr., former director of admissions at Culver-Stockton College, Canton, MO, will interview May 17. An open session will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. in the University Union Capitol Room (video connection to WIU-Quad Cities campus).

Lynes served as director of admissions at Culver-Stockton from June 2007-January 2010. Prior to that he was the dean of enrollment management (January 2004-June 2006) and director of admissions (November 2001-January 2004) at Dana College in Blair, NE. Lynes has served as the director of admissions (June 1998-September 2001), associate director of admissions (October 1995-June 1998), assistant director of admissions (March 1995-September 1995) and transfer counselor (1994-September 1999) at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, IA, and as an admissions counselor at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA (1990-1993). He received his master's degree from the University of Iowa (1989) and his bachelor's degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA (1988).

Robert Smith, admissions territory representative at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, will interview May 19. An open session will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. in the University Union Capitol Room (video connection to WIU-Quad Cities campus).

Smith has served as admissions territory representative at Northwestern Health Sciences University since April 2010. Prior to that he was the associate director of admissions at Logan University in Chesterfield, MO from January 1999-January 2010. Smith has served as advertising director for Veteran's Media LLC in O'Fallon (IL) (June 1998-January 1999); in the pre-need sales department at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights (IL) (January 1998-December 1998); advertising sales representative for the O'Fallon Progress (December 1996-December 1997); and advertising sales representative for the Pioneer News in Shelbyville, KY (June 1994-November 1996). He earned his master's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University.
