WIU 2011 Spring Graduates

MACOMB, IL – More than 1,850 students earned academic degrees after the 2011 Spring semester at Western Illinois University. Of these, nearly 200 graduates' primary attendance site was the WIU-Quad Cities campus.
Bachelor's degrees were awarded to approximately 1,390 students. More than 175 of these students were awarded Western's Bachelor of Arts in General Studies (formerly the Board of Trustees-Bachelor of Arts degree), which allows students to earn a regionally accredited undergraduate degree online in a way that fits their educational needs and lifestyles.
Academic distinction was awarded to baccalaureate graduates who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.
Master's degrees were earned by more than 430 graduates.

Dimke (Rockford, IL), Kim Patrick Huckstadt (Maquoketa, IA), Dean Michael Langdon (Lincoln, IL), Chester Griffith Lien (Macomb, IL), Sarah Ann Willey (Dixon, IL) and Kent H. Young (Hamilton, IL).
