Flute Soloist Ali Ryerson February 3

MACOMB, IL - -Jazz flutist Ali Ryerson will perform a concert and give a master class at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall on Western Illinois University's campus.

Ryerson has released more than a dozen albums and has performed with Billy Taylor, Kenny Barron, Stephane Grappelli, Frank Wess, Red Rodney, Roy Haynes and Luciano Pacarotti. Ryerson has also served as jazz flutist chair for the National Flute Association (NFA) and founded the NFA Jazz Flute Big Band.

She has conducted flute seminars throughout the country including Ohio State University, the University of Alaska, Capital University and the Western Connecticut State University Summer Flute Institute.

Ryerson is a Brio! performing artist and clinician for Gemeinhardt. She and Gemeinhardt are currently working on an autographed series of flutes.
