WIU Libraries Author Recognition Reception in April; WIU Authors Submit Works by March 2

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Libraries is sponsoring the Eighth Annual WIU Author Recognition Reception in April. Faculty, staff or students, including retired faculty or staff members, who published during the 2011 calendar year are encouraged to complete the Libraries' author submission form by Friday, March 2.
The Author Recognition Reception is slated for 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 in the Leslie F. Malpass Library Garden Lounge.
According to Jeanne Stierman, reference librarian and professor at University Libraries, to ensure the authored items are displayed during the reception, authors are encouraged to deliver a print copy to her (in the Malpass Library, room 217). She noted that authors should indicate if the item is to be donated to the Libraries' collection or is to be returned to the individual author.
Author submission forms -- for books; for book chapters, an article in proceedings, encyclopedia entry, report, etc.; for periodicals, i.e., journal article, newspaper article, poem, short story, etc.; or other "type" items, including scores, sound recordings, DVDs or videos, software, juried art, etc. -- are all available on the University Libraries' website at wiu.edu/libraries/wiu_authors/2010s/2011/publicationsDuring2011.php.
