Pension Reform Letter [Posted 2/16/12]

Dear WIU Campus Community:
The Illinois Institute of Government & Public Affairs (IGPA) has released a thorough analysis of Illinois' public pension problem. The IGPA is proposing a set of reforms for the State Universities Retirement System (SURS) to meet the standards of the Illinois Constitution and to provide fiscal sustainability for the retirement system. The IGPA proposals are built on the concept of shared responsibility for the state, its public universities, and university employees.

We will hold forums for WIU faculty and staff to further discuss the IGPA's proposal. Dates will be announced in the near future.
