WIU Welcomed Area Students for Accounting Challenge
April 21, 2014

MACOMB, IL - - Area high school students demonstrated their financial accounting knowledge at Western Illinois University on Friday, April 11 at the ninth annual Accounting Challenge. The event, sponsored by Western's Department of Accounting and Finance, the WIU chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) and the Illinois CPA Society, gave students a chance to showcase their skills through a written competition and provided information about Western's accountancy program and the WIU College of Business and Technology.
Six area high schools and 52 students competed to win scholarships to go toward a WIU accounting major. The participating high schools included Astoria, Bushnell-Prairie City, Macomb, Rushville-Industry, Spoon River Valley and United.
