WIU RPTA Conference Keynote Speaker to Offer Tips on Communication Techniques for Successful Collaboration; Address Open, Free to Public

MACOMB, IL — Learn about communication techniques and skills that foster cooperation and collaboration from Steve Garland, a trainer with Dale Carnegie Training, Friday, April 15 at Western Illinois University. Garland's presentation, "Cooperation: The Art of the Win-Win," set from 8:30-9:30 a.m. (April 15) in the University Union Grand Ballroom, is the keynote presentation at the WIU Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration (RPTA) Professional Development Conference and is open free to the public.

Garland's talk will also examine human relations principles designed to create a cooperative and collaborative work environment. Attendees will learn how to better understand the mindset of solution based thinking and cooperation.

According to its website, Dale Carnegie Training emphasizes practical principles and processes by designing programs that offer people the knowledge, skills and practices they need to add value to the business or organization.

The WIU Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration's Professional Development Conference is supported by the WIU College of Education and Human Services made possible through the generosity of WIU alumni and friends.
