MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - The School of Engineering and Technology at Western Illinois University continues to host weekly seminars every Wednesday, from 4-5 p.m., on the Quad Cities campus, in Riverfront Hall, room 111. This engaging seminar series is open to all WIU students and promises to delve into a wide range of topics pertinent to engineering and technology in the region.

The upcoming schedule includes:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 8: WIU Engineering and Technology

  • Wednesday, Nov. 15: Springfield Armory

  • Wednesday, Nov. 29: Automation For Manufacturing in the QCA

  • Wednesday, Dec. 6: Shive-Hattery

It's worth noting that attendance at these seminars may be mandatory for certain courses and can also be a criterion for scholarships. Students interested in participating can register for ENGR 100 Engineering Study and Seminar, a zero-credit, repeatable course that comes at no tuition cost.

If you represent an organization and are interested in hosting a seminar on campus, this presents an excellent opportunity to introduce your organization, share information about employment opportunities and highlight your recruitment efforts to eager students. Typically, these information sessions run for 20-30 minutes and encompass a presentation, followed by a Q&A session and networking opportunities. However, organizations are encouraged to get creative with their approach; hosting coffee chats, lunch and learns, trivia or game nights, site visits, tours, or even providing gift bags for finals week are all ideas that have proven successful.
