Morrow Named EOM

MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Bertha Morrow, staff secretary in the College of Fine Arts and Communication dean’s office, was selected as the October Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Morrow was cited by her nomintors for her “deep commitment to her profession and for providing the highest level of service to her unit.

“Day-by-day she commits herself to achieving the highest level of excellence in her work,” her nominators added. “She juggles multiple tasks and is always cheerful and helpful. Bertha exemplifies the ideal staff professional. The quality and quantity of her work exceed expectations by any measure.”

Morrow began working as a secretary II in communication arts and sciences in 1982. She was promoted to secretary III in 1984 in the same department and in 1987 she was promoted to secretary IV. In 1999 her position was reclassified to staff secretary in communication arts and sciences. In 2001 she transferred to the deanÂ’s office in the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

“Bertha is the kind of person that makes Western great,” said Katharine D. Barrett, CSEC public relations officer. “Her enthusiasm and her work ethic is to be much-admired.”
