MACOMB, IL -- The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Sara Winship, Campus Recreation facilities manager, was selected as the August Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to Winship's nominators, she "epitomizes the 'Western Spirit' in her everyday work. No matter what task, Sara approaches the situation with a calm 'No problem,' and delivers whatever the user needs."

"No one pays more attention to details than Sara. She notices every little thing with the facility and she prides herself on keeping an immaculate facility," her nominators added. "She also volunteers a lot of time at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course. You'll find her out on the course on hot, sunny days weeding the flower beds, planting new flowers and working hard to improve the aesthetic qualities of the course. She sets a wonderful example of someone with an excellent work ethic."

Winship began working at WIU in 1980 as a building service worker. She was promoted to her current position in 1997.

"Sara is to be commended for the positive impact she makes at Western," said Laura Caldwell, CSEC public relations officer. "Her attention to detail and quality make the recreation center the premier facility it is."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Caldwell at
309/298-1917 or e-mail LM-Caldwell@wiu.edu.
