MACOMB, IL -- Marilyn Helton, building service worker, has been named the Western Illinois University November Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to Helton's nominator, she "takes great pride in her work and the appearance of WIU and always has a smile."

"She is conscientious and considerate. Marilyn completes her work as though she is taking care of her own personal living area," her nominator added. "Her thoughtfulness is truly amazing and she goes the extra mile to make our environment attractive and safe."

Helton began working in building services at Western in August 1980.

"Marilyn's work is another example of the various duties that Civil Service employees excel at every day on this campus," said Laura Caldwell. "Her positive impact on the building services department and the campus is appreciated and to be applauded."
