WIU Theatre Alums Present Comedy April 11-13 in East Davenport

MACOMB, IL - - A trio of Western Illinois University theatre alumni are presenting the comedy "Inside Out" tonight Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13 at Turner Hall, 2113 E. 11th St., Davenport, Iowa.

Showtime is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, $10, will be available at the door.

The comedy about a comedy about the worst play ever written was penned by Christian Krauspe (Elburn, IL), a 2007 Bachelor of Arts in theatre graduate.

Krauspe has been twice been recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) for his playwriting. His "Dearborn Americana" play, which he wrote during his senior year, earned Best Original Full-Length Play in the 2008 Regional III KCACTF in Milwaukee and has been submitted for national award consideration. Krauspe was also a 2007 third place regional award winner in the National Playwriting Program 10-minute Festival for his play "Friendly Fire," which was among six student-written 10-minute plays presented at the festival. He is heading to Arizona State in the fall to begin work on a master's degree in playwriting.

Actors in "Inside Out" include Western alumnus Adam Lewis (1998, MFA), a Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse (Rock Island, IL) professional actor; Bryan J. Tank; Jackie Madunic; Liz Millea and J.W. Hertner.

The show is produced by My Verona Productions, with Tristan Layne Tapscott, a four-year WIU musical theater major, as producer, and Sean Leary and Krauspe as associate producers. Director is Chris Walljasper.
