WIU Hosts GPS Applications in Precision Farming March 26

MACOMB, IL - - A presentation on Global Positioning Systems (GPS) applications in precision farming is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at the University of Illinois Extension–McDonough County Office, 3022 W. Jackson St., Macomb (4-H Fairgrounds).

Presented by the Western Illinois University GIS Center, featured speaker Ryan Leonard of Kara Company, Inc. will give an overview of available technologies and current and future Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS applications in agriculture. Leonard is the sales manager at Kara, a Chicago-based company specializing in high-end GPS equipment and measuring solutions.
