Owens Reception

MACOMB, IL – A retirement reception for Janice Owens, director of the Western Illinois University Scholarship Office, will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 in the University Union Grand Ballroom.
Owens began working at WIU in 1982 and was named scholarship director in 1987. Prior to joining Western's staff, she was a prep and public school art teacher and chairperson in Maryland and Virginia. In addition to Owens' role as scholarship director at WIU, she has served as an academic adviser, as assistant to the executive assistant for enrollment management and assistant to the president for external relations, and has taught art classes.
Owens has established the Janice Owens Book Award Fund. Donations honoring Owens' commitment to WIU students may be made to the Janice Owens Book Award Fund in care of the Western Illinois University Foundation, Sherman Hall 303, 1 University Circle, Macomb, IL 61455-1390.
